Friendternets, Target opens TWO stores in Hawaii next month. TWO Target stores within 15 minutes of me--when I've had to live without the sweet mother store for A YEAR (yes, I know there is a lot of capitalization in this post. It is NECESSARY!)
Since I've been doing so "well" without a Target here, I'm going to see how long I can go without going into an actual store. I KNOW! It's INSANE!
For this contest, you just need to guess how long it will before I break. One week, two weeks.....um, thirteen minutes? Whoever is the closest wins a 20 dollar Target gift card!
Start guessing!

I say you'll be waiting at the doors the minute they open.
And if I win, just keep the gift card and buy yourself something nice at the grand opening sale.
Uhm, I am going to say.....22 minutes. Because that is how long it will take you to stand in line to get in on Opening Day!!
I was all set to respond to your mommy mood post, but I guess not. Lets just say I've been puking a lot and Mada has been slumping around saying, "but I'm too sick to pick-up my toys..."
As for Target, somehow there is something I "need" every week. I don't know how it happens, but honestly you should go just in case they have stuff that you've forgotten all about. Because once you're there I guarantee that you'll find all sorts of "needs". And you should go during their crazy opening sales.
I guess 2 days, that's it. You're going to crumble under the excitement!
I say 4 days, and 15 hours.
In other news, when Naika told me HI was getting Target, I said, "Finally, I will not fight the Navy if they try to send us there."
3 days, 2 hours and 17 minutes.
Dust mine eyes deceive me, or did a post of yours disappear?
From one who has seen you go through Target withdrawal, I hereby predict... 14 mninutes.
Including driving time.
You'll be the 1st one in line, camping out the night before, maybe even 2 nights before - or you'll hold some poor Target Team member hostage, steal her name tag and start stocking shelves the week before :)
I say 5 days. :)
Target online is my friend.
If I know you, you will either A. Fight the crowds the first day and even throw a few elbows. or B. Wait a week. Exactly. Unless it's a Saturday, then you will wait for the next Monday. Now THAT is specific (or psychic if I am right.)
:) Have fun!
Here's how it will go down... I believe you said that one is close to Colin's school, and one is close-ish to your house, right?
Day one: Will Resist. Will feel all self-righteous about your crazy will power. May mock the "sheep" that flock to the Target.
Day two: Will drive Colin to school. Will resist stopping at Target post-dropoff. Will pass Target feeling MIGHTY proud of one's self control.
Day two-point-five: "Accidentally" will leave house an hour early to pick up Colin. Will think to one's self "What CAN I do with all this free time?" Will have epiphany about Katie needing some shoes or something RIGHT NOW. Will grab red cart and hope no-one sees you.
So- I'm going to say 1.5 business days post grand opening. Because I am a crazy person.
Somehow I managed to post twice... that makes me look super smart!
So, who won? I read on another blog that they opened today. I KNOW you were there. I just know it.
How did I miss that contest? I hope I'm not too later probably but hey I give you a week and 1/2 let the crowds die down a little. (Sharon once again I can't post normal. ugh!)
um...yesterday? (if you're anything like me at least. Brandi said we should meet, I live in Aiea, work at hickam. I need friends. oh. and I'm awesome)
My mom lived in Hawaii and is so excited about the targets too!!
If I were you and trying to take this kind of attitude, I would wait just long enough for something to go on at a decent clearance price. No mere 30% off, but 50 or even 75! Give it three and a half weeks (I think my Target marks down on Thursdays).
Or you might just go in alone the day it opens while most people are a work and enjoy.
